What are the Scope

Why and When use the scope

One of Hook2Flow’s strengths is that nothing is forced.

Hook2Flow uses access scopes to determine which Shopify data it is allowed to read in order to capture webhook events and expose them as triggers inside Shopify Flow.

These permissions are optional and fully controlled by the merchant. You can enable or disable each scope at any time from the app settings.

Where to Find Access Scopes

  1. Open your Shopify Admin

  2. Go to Hook2Flow under the Apps menu

  3. Click Scopes

You will see a list of available scopes with an On / Off toggle for each one.

Hook2Flow works by listening to Shopify webhook events and translating them into Flow triggers.
To do this, Shopify requires the app to explicitly request permission to read specific resources.

If a scope is disabled, Hook2Flow simply won’t receive or process events related to that resource.

Available Scopes:

  • Read_orders
Allows Hook2Flow to read order-related events and payloads.
  • Read_products
Allows Hook2Flow to read product-related events and payloads.

  • Read_Themes
Allows read-only access to theme-related data.

  • Read_Discount
Allows Hook2Flow to read discount-related events and payloads.

In conclusion, access scopes define what Hook2Flow can listen to and pass into Shopify Flow.

Choosing the right scopes ensures your automations are both powerful and secure.
